And there was me thinking I was being original, and @fmacgregor helpfully pointed out this survey of Kha…an spellings on the web: http://www.infinitypoint0.com/64/khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan/
I will maintain that my “research” is novel because the medium was twitter, rather than the web in general… and because it sampled the community in the wake of Montalban’s death. But, I feel a bit deflated now.
Ah well. That research is remarkably similar to yours, even in tone. Geeks think alike, it transpires. Maybe that could be your next bit of research?
Finished last week’s *and* listened to the whole of this weeks last night. Good fun, thanks chaps. Now going to see if I can fashion any stand-up material from my bad experiences of reading books at school
You’ll have to invite us along to your next gig so we can hear it!
This whole Kha…an game is on Boing Boing now too:

(Though I note that that “researcher” didn’t determine the mean, median and mode numbers of “a”s… and they didn’t correct for non-Montalban use of “khan” and “khaan”. Tut, amateurs!)
You’ll have to let us know what your childhood book traumas were, Will. Mine were so bad that I’ve actually quite effectively blocked many of them out - particularly primary school set reading!
